Elementary Student Life

Academic Enrichment
This year, our students benefitted from the generosity of several donors who sponsored "Bringing Science to Life." This science program made enrichment opportunities available to students from 5K - 12 grade.
- Kindergarten and first graders explored interesting "Animal Encounters" presented by Discovery Place.
- Second and fifth graders learned about the fascinating characteristics of Gravity and Friction in a "Reach Out of the Box" workshop taught by Christie Ray and Jeanne Valliere.
- Third and fourth graders were awed by the visiting reptiles from Discovery Place's Reptile Rap workshop and Ms. Jennifer Hamelin.
After school workshops in Super Structures and Robotics were learning opportunites for students in third through ninth grades. Students spent six weeks discovering the elements of engineering involved in building and robotics.
High school seniors participated in Building Bridges 101 presented by Discovery Place and designed their own bridges and test the bridge designs for strength and sound design. .

Before and After School Care
These services are available from 6 am-6 pm each day. A hourly rate is charged.
Cafeteria
Cafeteria
CCA offers a full service cafeteria that serves a hot lunch each day and several a la carte items for students to select. Students are welcome to bring their lunch from home. White milk and chocolate milk are also available for purchase.
Chapel
Elementary students enjoy weekly chapel services where they learn exciting songs and hear life-changing Bible lessons. Each fall a Missions Project is chosen and students collect money to fund this special project. Past projects have included purchasing an industrial oven and kitchen supplies for a seminary in Reynosa, Mexico and sending backpacks to students in Pinar del Rio, Cuba. A variety of speakers, including CFWBC's Youth Pastor "Dr. Amos", bring the Bible to life through object lessons, science experiments, and Bible character lessons.
Playgrounds
Three playgrounds, an indoor children's gym, and the Roy Rikard Activities Building provide wonderful opportunites for physical exercise and recess. Additionally, students make use of the Athletic Fields for fall soccer and Field Day each spring.
Sports
In the fall, students in 5K - 6th Grade are invited to participate on CCA Soccer Teams that work cooperatively with local recreational leagues. Through this partnership we are able to play other teams from Belmont, Cramerton, and surrounding communities. Soccer teams are divided by age: U5, U7, U9, U11, U14. The most exciting games occur when CCA Green plays CCA Gold!
During basketball season, CCA offers our elementary students the opportunity to participate again in local recreational leagues as well
